Ornamental & Tree Diseases I have sick plants in my landscape, and I need help. I've got a lot invested in my ornamental plantings in terms of money, not to mention the long hours of hard work. Where do I turn to for problem solving assistance? The best place to start is your County Extension Office. Extension personnel are trained in landscape problem identification and can generally provide on-the-spot assistance. However, if they're not familiar with the problem, a plant specimen can be collected for shipment to the Plant Pathology Laboratory at Mississippi State University, where more extensive testing may be required. Getting an early start on identifying the nature of your landscape health problems is a good idea, since it may be possible to initiate a program of remedial treatment. Refer to Plant Pathology Infobytes for further information on how to have your sick plants diagnosed free-of-charge. |
