Dairy
DHIA Program
The DHIA program is an unbiased dairy production and herd management program that producers can use to better manage their dairy operation for increased efficiency and profitability. Production data such as milk production and reproductive and health data are collected periodically and processed using a computer to generate reports which the producer can use to better manage the dairy operation.
The cost of DHIA varies according to the options selected, however the range is from a low of approximately $.80 per cow per month for producer collected data and limited sample analysis to a high of approximately $1.50 per cow per month for supervised testing with full sample analysis. Samples can be analyzed for milk fat, milk protein and somatic cell count as well as special testing available to analyze milk urea nitrogen (MUN).
